HEIC to PNG Converter
Convert HEIC photos to lossless PNG — every pixel preserved exactly as captured. Ideal for editing, design work, screenshots, and any use where quality cannot be compromised.
Why convert HEIC to PNG?
PNG is a lossless format — it preserves every single pixel of your original image without any compression artifacts. Unlike JPG, which discards data to shrink file size, PNG guarantees that what you see is exactly what was captured by your camera.
This makes PNG the right choice when you plan to edit the image further (cropping, color correction, compositing), when you need transparency support, or when you're working with graphics, screenshots, or text-heavy images where JPG compression would create visible blur around edges.
When PNG is the right choice
- Photo editing workflows — open in Photoshop, Lightroom, GIMP, or Affinity without generation loss
- Graphic design — logos, icons, and illustrations with sharp edges
- Screenshots — text stays crisp without compression artifacts
- Medical or scientific imaging — where accuracy is non-negotiable
- Archival — long-term storage without gradual quality degradation
- Images with transparency — PNG supports alpha channels, HEIC and JPG do not in practice
The tradeoff: file size
Lossless preservation comes at a cost: PNG files are typically 2-3x larger than the original HEIC, and 3-5x larger than an equivalent JPG. A 3 MB HEIC photo might produce a 7-10 MB PNG file.
If file size matters more than pixel-perfect quality — for example, sharing casually via email or social media — consider using JPG (lossy but much smaller) or WebP (modern compression, smaller than both PNG and JPG at equivalent quality).
How it works
Drop your HEIC files
Drag files onto the converter or tap Browse Files. Supports batch conversion of up to 200 files.
Automatic lossless conversion
PNG doesn't have a quality slider — it's always lossless. Every pixel is preserved as-is.
Download your PNGs
Get individual files or a ZIP archive. Original filenames are preserved with a .png extension.
